How Sukaizen collects, uses, and safeguards your personal data — written in plain English, no legalese padding.

Last updated 19 May 2026

Sukaizen (“we”, “our”) operates this website and the online store at sukaizen.com. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have over your data. By using our site you consent to the practices described below.

Data we collect

We collect only what we need to run an honest e-commerce business. Specifically:

  • Order & account data — name, shipping & billing address, email, phone (optional), order history, and account credentials if you choose to register.
  • Payment data — handled by our payment processor (Shopify Payments / Stripe). We never store your card or banking details on our servers. We retain a payment reference and a record of the transaction.
  • Communication records — your messages to support, custom-order briefs, and any attachments you send us.
  • Site analytics — anonymous traffic data (pageviews, devices, referrers) collected through privacy-respecting analytics for the purpose of improving the site.

How we use it

Your data is used solely for these purposes:

  • Processing and fulfilling orders, including shipping and customs documentation.
  • Customer support — answering questions, handling exchanges and returns.
  • Order updates, transactional emails, and (only with your opt-in) marketing newsletters.
  • Improving the site experience based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns.
  • Meeting legal, tax, and accounting obligations (including customs declarations).
  • Detecting and preventing fraud and unauthorized transactions.

We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the order or service you have asked for.

Data sharing

We share data only with the third-party processors that make our store run, and only the minimum each one needs:

  • Shopify Inc. — e-commerce platform, order processing, and storefront hosting.
  • Stripe — secure payment processing (PCI-DSS compliant).
  • Shipping carriers — to deliver your order (Japan Post, DHL, FedEx, or local national post depending on your region).
  • Google LLC — anonymous site analytics and optional advertising services.
  • Meta Platforms — optional advertising pixel (Instagram / Facebook), where applicable.
  • Customs authorities — name, address, and order value as legally required for international shipments.

We never sell your personal data. We never share it for advertising profiling. We never disclose it to anyone other than the parties listed above except where legally required.

Cookies & tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies — cart state, login session, and CSRF protection. These are required for checkout to function.
  • Analytics cookies — anonymous traffic data via Google Analytics (anonymized where legally required) to help us improve the site.
  • Advertising pixels — Google Ads and Meta (Instagram / Facebook) pixel, used only where applicable to measure ad performance.

You can manage or disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will affect checkout functionality.

Data security

All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Payment data is handled exclusively by PCI-DSS-compliant processors. Account passwords are hashed with industry-standard algorithms. Access to customer data is limited to the small Sukaizen team members who need it to do their work.

No system is fully invulnerable. If a security incident affects your data we will notify you within 72 hours and provide guidance.

Data retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy. In practice:

  • Order records — kept for 7 years as required by Japanese tax and accounting law.
  • Account data — retained until you request deletion or close your account.
  • Support communications — kept for up to 2 years for dispute resolution purposes.
  • Analytics data — anonymized and aggregated; no individual retention limit applies.

You may request early deletion of your personal data at any time (see Your rights below). Some data may be retained for the legal minimum period even after a deletion request.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you. EU/UK residents have these rights formally under GDPR; California residents under CCPA. To exercise any right, send us a DM on Instagram @sukaizenofficial from the account associated with your order.

We respond to verified requests within 30 days. Some data (e.g. order records required by tax law) may be retained for the legal minimum period before deletion.

Children's privacy

Sukaizen is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us immediately via Instagram DM @sukaizenofficial and we will delete it promptly.
