Accessibility Statement
We want anyone to be able to browse, size and buy a jacket here, whatever technology they use to do it. This page sets out what we have done, what we have not done yet, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

Our conformance target
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the European Accessibility Act and by EN 301 549.
Sukaizen is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the standard is met, but we have not yet completed and published an independent audit covering every success criterion, so we are not claiming full conformance.
What is in place
- Keyboard operation
- Every interactive control — navigation, search, size selection, the image gallery and lightbox, cart and checkout — is reachable and operable by keyboard alone. A skip link is the first focusable element on every page and jumps directly to the main content.
- Visible focus
- Focus is indicated by a two-tone ring designed to stay visible against both light and dark sections. We use :focus-visible rather than :focus so the indicator appears for keyboard users without adding outlines on mouse clicks.
- Screen reader support
- Size selection is an ARIA radiogroup with arrow-key navigation; search is built to the ARIA 1.2 combobox pattern; stock messages, cart quantity and search result counts are announced through live regions. Form fields are paired with labels, and validation errors are announced rather than signalled by colour alone.
- Images and text alternatives
- Product photography carries per-image alt text describing the garment and the view. Decorative images are marked so assistive technology skips them rather than reading duplicates.
- Motion
- Animation respects the operating-system 'reduce motion' preference. No content flashes, auto-plays with sound, or moves in a way that cannot be stopped.
- Colour and contrast
- Body text and interface controls are designed against the WCAG AA contrast ratios. Information is never conveyed by colour alone — stock state, errors and badges all carry text.
Known limitations
We would rather list these than let you discover them.
- No independent audit yet
- The measures above are the result of design and code review, not of a formal audit against all 50 Level AA success criteria. Until that audit is completed and published here, we describe this site as partially conformant.
- Third-party checkout
- Payment is completed on Stripe's hosted checkout, which is outside our control. Stripe publishes its own accessibility conformance information. If you hit a barrier there, tell us anyway — we can take the order manually.
- Japanese-language pages
- The Japanese section of the site currently covers editorial content only. Shopping pages are English-only, which is a language barrier for Japanese-speaking customers using assistive technology in their own language.
- Older blog imagery
- Some illustrations in early blog posts carry shorter alt text than our current standard. We are revising these as posts come up for content review.
Tell us about a barrier
If any part of this site stops you doing something — reading a size chart, completing an order, reaching support — email support@sukaizen.com with the page address and what happened. We reply within one business day and aim to resolve or offer a workaround within ten.
If you cannot complete an order because of a barrier, say so in the email and we will place it for you rather than making you fight the interface.
How we assess this site
Accessibility is reviewed during code review on every change to a shared component, using keyboard-only navigation and automated linting. A formal audit using automated tooling and manual assistive-technology testing is planned; this statement will be updated with its date and findings when it is complete.
